Card Mistakes

Everyone makes
mistakes sometimes, and the same is with Pokemon cards. There are many mistakes,
some rare, some uncorrected, but all noticeable mistakes.

40 HP HP 40 Mirror

You might find
that your caterpie, metapod, or vulpix has their HP as HP 70 instead of 70 HP.
This is only on non-shadowed cards (no shadow on right edge of picture frame).
The mistake cards are usually worth about $3 more.

Really long
Pokemon

If you have a
bulbasaur or a kakuna that is non-shadow, its pokedex plaque will say
______ pokemon,
length ____ Length ____
It will say
length the second time as well as the first!

Aren't Ponyta
and Goldeen Basic Pokemon?

You may or may
not notice that ALL rapidashes and seakings have this error. it says:
Evolves from
Goldeen, Put seaking on the Stage 1 Pokémon
ponyta and
goldeen are basic Pokémon, not stage 1.

Diglett Dig!

On some digletts
the fighting energy for dig is turned to the right completely. This card is rare
among the other digletts.

Pokedex

If you have lots
of pokedex cards, you'll notice that some pokedexs are bigger than others. If
you have a first edition one, it will be smaller than others.

Crop Circles?

Sometimes when
you get a card fresh from a pack, there will be a small red ring somewhere on
the card. this has happened to 2 of my cards so far. This was probably caused by
dripping ink presses.

Misplaced
energies

This is the most
common misprint. You'll notice that the card on the right has its energies
higher up. The "floating" energies can be found on almost any
non-shadowed card.

Cut-Out

If you happen to
have a first-edition, fossil, foil zapdos lying around, you might notice that
the foil in the top left corner is cut out. The cut out space resembles an
evolution icon. It is unknown if there is more cut out cards.

Monster Ball?

If you have a
non-shadow voltorb, and you look at its pokédex, you'll realize that it says
that it resembles a "Monster Ball". In japan pokéballs are called
monster balls.

Base set
jungle cards?

About 5% of
jungle Holofoils don't have a jungle symbol on them. So far I have seen a
scyther and a flareon with this.

I think ill
buzzap my electrode... hey wait a second!

If you get a
first edition jungle electrode, it will have the picture of the base set
electrode.

Edition
"D"

This is nearly
the rarest mistake there is. If you have a first edition butterfree check on the
first edition symbol. If you have this card it will say edition D. This was made
by a bubble in the ink.

Red? yellow?
its all the same to me.

Some pikachus
have red cheeks. Believe it or not, but the red one is the misprint. Only on
some non shadow cards.

The rarest
mistake...

This is the
rarest mistake so far. there is about a 99.9% chance of finding a promo (1)
pikachu in packs of cards. This misprint is the fact that it is first edition.
It is worth $100+.

Very long
Copyright

On Dark
Vileplume and Dark Arbok cards (Team Rocket) The copyright says copyright
1999-23000. It is yet determined if it is only on first editions.

Grass vs.
Fighting?

On Dark
Vileplume non-holofoil the weakness says fighting instead of fire. This is
corrected on the holofoil version

Real Short
Rapidash

On Dark Rapidash
there is no word "length" on the gold bar.

Those
dripping presses again...

I have this
rarely seen messed up slowpoke. The HP color is inverted on the P and the
abnormal blue ring with purple splotches. These are also signs of ink drips.

Eevee is dash-less!

On the Promo 11
eevee, the Pokémon power chain reaction has no ' on the e.
